Submission Guidelines

  • We do not publish anything that has been previously published.
  • Your manuscript should be professionally edited before you submit, e.g., in compliance with The Chicago Manual of Style.
  • Please contact us if you wish to withdraw your submission or you have received a competing offer.
  • Each manuscript we are interested in will go through a review process in order to see if it meets our requirements. We will be in touch as soon as we reach a decision. This might take a while. Sorry.  
  • Yes, Apateon Press is a publisher that will accept submissions written with the assistance of artificial intelligence (AI). As one of the publishers that accepts AI submissions, we have to advise of several factors that currently affect such works: It is essential to disclose and describe your use of AI in the writing process. And, you need to be aware of the unclear state of copyright when it comes to AI works. 

Submission Acknowledgment, Release, and Terms

By submitting a work through the submission form, I acknowledge and agree that the Publisher may now or in the future receive, develop, publish, market, license, or distribute manuscripts, books, or other works that are similar to my submission in theme, concept, subject matter, plot, characters, style, format, or other elements. I understand that such similarities may result from independent creation, common ideas, historical facts, public-domain materials, or other lawful sources.

I acknowledge that my submission is voluntary and unsolicited. Submission of my work does not create any confidential, fiduciary, partnership, joint venture, agency, employment, or other special relationship between me and the Publisher.

I further acknowledge that submission of my work does not obligate the Publisher to review, evaluate, respond to, retain, return, publish, acquire, license, market, or otherwise use my submission. The Publisher may, in its sole discretion, decline to consider or respond to any submission without explanation.

I represent that I own or control all rights necessary to submit this work and have the authority to grant the Publisher permission to review it.

I agree that I will not assert any claim against the Publisher, its owners, officers, directors, employees, contractors, affiliates, successors, or assigns based solely on the existence of similarities between my submission and any work that the Publisher publishes, develops, acquires, licenses, or considers, provided the Publisher has not infringed any valid copyright or other legally protected intellectual property rights that I own.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, I release and hold harmless the Publisher, its owners, officers, directors, employees, contractors, affiliates, successors, and assigns from any claims, damages, losses, costs, or liabilities arising solely from (i) the Publisher’s review or non-review of my submission; (ii) the Publisher’s decision not to publish, license, or otherwise use my submission; or (iii) the independent creation, acquisition, publication, marketing, licensing, or distribution of works that may resemble my submission.

I understand that no contract or agreement to publish my work exists unless and until a separate written publishing agreement is executed and signed by both me and an authorized representative of the Publisher.
